This summer has already brought huge forest fires to New Mexico. The nearest fire, near Ruidoso, altered the sky even 70 miles away… The following three shots were taken from our land toward the northwest turning toward the west…

haha… the recipe book lied. It is, after all, important to let the pasta dry before refrigerating it…
A few years ago when Florida had a series of large forest fires burning we could smell them all the way up in North GA. Very hazy too.
Although it is preferable to something like say…. the Iceland volcano a little while ago….

so far, so good. we’re hoping the colorado land is ok, too. It is about 70 miles away from the Sand Creek fire up there, so should be fine.
